ILG GETS 2ND OVERALL IN RACE #1; AZ STATE NORDIC CHAMPIONSHIP...A 3-PEAT NOT LIKELY

It's a nice conundrum to have at 47; apparently, the only people capable of beating me in a Classic Ski Race so far this year must be decades younger and members of National Teams!

This morning was Race #1 of the AZ State Nordic Ski Championships of which i am the two-time defending Champion.

On the venue was a grueling 15-kilometer high-altitude course that even had National Biathlon Team Member; Karl Granoth tilting his head a bit before the Race Gun went off. i pre-skied the Course on Thursday thinking i'd practice a little skate skiing (i've only been on my skate skis 3x this winter) afterward. Holy Heaven! i was so worked over, i went straight home to take a nap with the (sick) girls.

Can't say enough about WF...for this broken back yogi to crank off a 15k Classic Race without spinal pain is an absolute Blessing of WF. THANK YOU, WF!

The black-and-white fact that i was only beaten by a National Team member, is fantastic and that i was able to keep him close to only a minute makes me deeeeply stoked.

i led the 25-strong peleton for the opening kilometer...

Visceralization vs. Visualization; a WF Performance Enhancing Secret

"...most conventionally trained athletes and corporate warriors have heard and learned about visualization; the art of 'seeing yourself' perform a given action on what is essentially a pre-schoolers version of the Astral Realm, before animating the action on the Physical Realm...however, only WF Athletes know about a far Higher Technique, a Technique i call, Visceralization." - coach ilg

Above; coach ilg - A Wholistic Athlete - reveals a unique Body/Mind/Spirit performance key in today's Teaching. shown; ilg approaches the 11,500' Finish Line on the Agassiz Uphill near Flagstaff.

***

Most textbook-trained Sport Psychology 'experts' are long-winded on benefits and techniques of Visualization. in my own books, i have used the term and the technique extensively.

in the WF Tradition, however, i've kept a much Higher, nobler, and effective technique hidden from the masses; served only through my Teacher/Student Relationship...it's a technique which i now reveal to you, Oh Noble Faithful Devotees of Wholeness through MultiDisciplined Fitness...

conventionally trained athletes and corporate warriors have heard and learned bout visualization; the art of 'seeing yourself' perform a given action on what is essentially a pre-schoolers version of the Astral Realm, before animating the action on the Physical Realm.

ilg doubts, however, if you have ever even heard of a far more profound, effective, and sacred technique of enhanced performance which relies upon nourishing the astral body before a big race or event. it's a Technique which i call, "Visceralization," and its impact upon the body/mind/spirit of a warrior preparing to perform is intensely beautiful, powerful, and effective.

i used this wholistic technique yesterday, as i pre-skied the State Championship Classic Ski Course up at Flagstaff Nordic Center in preparation for the Sunday morning meet...

"...my ever increasingly Wholistic experience..." 50 years old and feel like 30!...WF Student RanDo shouts out the Love!

Good Morning Steve:

Congratulations on the Chili Ski Classic! It is exciting that you put this kind of effort forth on My 50th Birthday and achieve yet another wonderful result. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday gift! Thank you! You see, the continuous inspiration and example you provide me is beyond what this warrior can adequately express but know that the appreciation is felt throughout every cell in my body.

So I turned 50 last week & because of WF I feel 30.
Yet another wonderful gift!

On January 12th we were skiing and one of our neighbors took a fall about 1/3 of the way down La Belle. After an assessment we determined she would not make it down on her own. So rather than wait for a sled, she jumped on my back & I skied her down to the Patrol office. Thank you WF!

For my birthday I received (from my wife) an entry in to the Boulder Triathlon Series June Sprint event. So now I begin a new training effort which will include the reintroduction of Rando into the water element. Any words of wisdom & direction for Triathlon would be greatly appreciated. Also, as you may know the only bicycle I own is a MTB. So I have to figure out how to close that gap in my toolset as well.

I have placed an order for the AI Imawa and Blue Light Healing offerings from the Tribal Pro Shop. I look forward to receiving more guidance in these aspects of my ever increasingly Wholistic experience.

With much appreciation.
Your friend and fellow warrior

Rando

Clay Moseley, a National Time Trial Champion, proved my only lure to catch in the 10k Classic during January 17th's Chile Ski Classic...hecuva lure! Here, Clay demonstrates excellent 'nordic tuck' form. In a nordic tuck, the priority is different than in Alpine ski racing. Aerodynamics are second priority; the First Priority of a Nordic Tuck is Skeletal Bracing; see how Clay's elbows are perched above his knees? This rests the arm and torso muscles, hopefully, recovering them a bit before the next massive onslaught of suffering inherent to this amazing sport. photo courtesy: - Patrick Hogan with Cumbres Adventures®

Ilg has long felt that the Race toward Enlightenment will be enhanced by competitive athletes. Especially outdoor athletes whose sweat and moments of sacred stillness are grounded by the Divine intoxication inherent to training within and for the outdoor sports. Most of my books, writings, and audio products serve as spiritual seeds to this re-ramping up of the Warrior Caste which - here in the West - has manifested as millions and millions of Fitness Warriors who were Blessed to born realizing the intense necessity of using and refining personal fitness as a Sourcing of our Divine Nature.

kissing 'my girls' go(o)d-bye, i launch into the 700-mile jaunt from Flagstaff to the remote northwestern gem-ship of Chama, New Mexico. even by southwest standards, this was going to a massive carbon footprint for me and prayers of forgiveness to Father Sky and Earth Mother were repeatedly chanted by myself since i first put this race - the prestigious 37 year-old Chama Ski Classic - on my winter racing calendar in August.

so big was the pilgrimage, i chose to spend night one at my parent's casa in Rio Rancho, NM. this would leave only a couple hours more driving hours to the venue, tucked away within the vaulted beauty of pine-studded wildness within the massive geologic apron of the Weminuche Wilderness. i've been dreaming of this race for months, well braced for the long pilgrimage across pinon mesas and deep ravines guarded by sandstone bracelets glimmering beneath a veneer of lace like snow. i pulled into M(om) and Dad's house humming from my 4-hour car-driving meditation. the two weeks before this race, thanks in large part to the MAP Amino Acids and SUNRIDER Whole Food Herbs, i had hovered above Joy's virus infection, business demands, teaching, and winter racing schedules to pull off this big trip. Having not raced in Chama since i was a chi-ld on the Durango Ski Team, you can imagine the Joy Anticipation building in my cells each mile i got closer to the village...

The self-ish push to attain athletic podiums is known as egoic drive or ahamvirya. Such energy is spiritually useful and can greatly accelerate the spiritually-inclined athlete to overcome his or her genetic, karmic, and samskaric weaknesses, negative tendencies, and habits. The more diverse the outer podiums gained, of course, the more spiritually potent becomes ahamvirya. The spiritual utilitarianism of ahamvirya will not be realized by most conventionally-trained athletes however, until they pass out of their current human consciousness at their Death Moment and are confronted by the hyper-intensities of the Bardo Realm. If left unmatured by a Dharma Teacher during this life, sadly, the athlete's accumulated aham-virya will be largely impotent; unable to bridge the astral gap which lengthens as we lose the filaments of human consciousness during our Dying Act.

If such competitive zeal is not turned inward, and then, eventually outward for the benefit of all others, the genuine inner podium is left unheld by our heartspace. Worse, accumulated trophies and medals gathered without Dharma leaves black karma untied and can actually intensify one's deepest karmic knots.

Sorry to bother you yet i have not figured out how to cross reference your DL teachings.
For example i would like to learn about ("see my Teaching on how to preserve Prana during airplane and car travel") .

The only way i can figure, to look this up is to scan back thru all your archives and then picturing myself scanning over and missing it.
This is not the first time this question came up for me yet it is the first time i gathered the nerve to bother you with this question.
Thanks for all that you do.

ILG WINS KING OF THE MOUNTAIN at CHILE SKI CLASSIC!

The Race Director of the Chili Ski Classic apologized yesterday to me after she and other race organizers re-calculated the Combined Event times from last Sunday's 37th running of the Chili Ski Classic...here is the report to the Arizona Daily Sun:

above:

Chama, New Mexico held Sunday, January 17th, 2010. photo courtesy; www.ChamaSki.com

Flagstaff yoga teacher, Steve Ilg, captured the King Of The Mountain
(Overall Championship) at the 37th Annual Chile Ski Classic, held on Sunday, January 17
at Cumbres Pass near Chama, New Mexico.

The prestigious, long-running event attracted over 122 racers competing in various distances in Classic Ski and Snowshoe Racing. Ilg finished 2nd Overall in the 10-kilometer Classic Ski segment, and 7th overall in the 5-kilometer Snowshoe Race. His combined time for both events - 1 hour and 29 minutes - bested all others in the Combined Event by nearly 11 minutes.
Results and photos of the event can be seen at www.ChamaSki.com

Ilg begins his attempt to retain the Arizona State Nordic Championship this Sunday (January 31st) at Flagstaff Nordic Center in the 15-kilometer Classic Ski Race for Race #1 of the two-race series.

The second and final ski race of the season will be a 15-kilometer Skate Ski Race also held at
Flagstaff Nordic Center on Sunday, February 7th. Contact FNC Race Director, Tim Allen at

Most Treasured WF Sangha,

often i have to wait for Race photography to send me photo's of the races in which i participate. sometimes, this can take weeks here in the laid-back Southwest. as i wait for any race pics from the Chili Classic, the down time allows me to smile at your wonderful input about my own photography used in iDl and DL. i thank you for the kindness and am greatly pleased that through these years, several of my pics have imprinted upon thy heart. WF Devotee and Online Student, Richard Stone, has graced me with volunteering to produce a handful of WF 2010 Calendars. Through his love and appreciation of WF, he is paying all costs for these exquisite, handy, and chi-full small desk calendars. if response is strong from you, we may be able to order more.

if you would like to have one (you pay only a small shipping fee), let me know. first come, first served. email me.

however, before you do, please take a few minutes to enjoy this inspiring Sights Unseen video.

ilg alchemy; one race transformed into 3 medals!

"A mandatory yet usually feared key of personal Wholeness
and High (Divine) Performance is
not to do what you want,
and (eventually) you may do as you please!
Most however,

shy away from developing their weaknesses for the sake of specialization - demonstrating what i term an 'insect evolution mentality.'
The WF yogi however,
takes great joy borne by supreme patience to
attack his or her weaknesses steadfastly
over decades
over lifetimes
without attachment to results.
The hilarious and profoundly sacred and fun
actual result from such firmament
is an ongoing intense beautification
and
empowerment of both physical and spiritual depth,
of both mundane and peak moments,
of both inner and outer worlds."

- coach steve ilg

The Winter Athlete...so safe, so potent, so whole!

the cover of perhaps my most penetratingly safe and effective training programs of Wholistic Fitness. it astounds me how many people get injured so quickly when following all the 'newer fad' workouts. sad how so few are willing to learn the spirit of repetition. oh well..while the others get injured by not practicing wholeness, we WF'rs just keep growing younger, stronger, and most sacred within our subtle anatomy.

in fact, your ol' coach; America's "Winter Athlete" - is leaving today for a Classic Ski/Snowshoe Winter Duathlon; the Chili Classic in New Mexico...full race report coming up next week...ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND OF WHOLENESS THROUGH WORKOUTS AND WORK-WITHINS!

Blue Light Healing Meditation MP3 Now Available

By popular request; this is my 15-minute guided; "Blue Light Healing Meditation" found in my book, TOTAL BODY TRANSFORMATION. I'll often use this very same meditation to conclude my HP Yoga® classes while my students are in Savasana...inevitably, the entire class becomes bathed in the astral serenity and innate self healing empowerment transmitted through this relaxing meditation.

Transmission integrity is on High Throttle; this Meditation was Transmitted to me by my own MahaNidraRishi, with whom i studied Tibetan EnergyWork and PhysioDynamic Bodywork in New Mexico for 3 years.

In this Meditation you will be guided to;

• a deep, restorative inner space of healing

• using proven colored light visualizations to ignite chakral field energetics

• release physical, mental, and spiritual adhesions

• neurohormonal balance for a calmer, more whole 'you'

"Coach, i am still in a Pranic afterglow after your Blue Light Healing Meditation last evening! Thank you!" - HP Yoga® Student Carrie

besides ending your asana session, suggested use of this Meditation includes falling asleep to it and using it daily during injury or traumatic times in life. Very powerful. Very gentle. Very effective. You'll be able to listen and re-listen to this Meditation for a long time...I've been using for over 20 years!

this MP3 is also available as a CD upon request for an additional fee.

please do NOT listen to this Meditation while driving.

After years...only HP Yoga® supports and nourishes "Athlete Body."

El Coache,

I really have found this to be true.
After practicing yoga of various styles for the past 15 years, HP yoga®
is the ONLY style which I have found to support and nourish my "athletes body".
I have never strained, pulled, tweaked or otherwise injured myself practicing HP Yoga®.
This has simply not been the case with other styles I have practiced.

Part 2; Early Winter Du - are you in the Spirit?

click on pics for enhanced frozen snot and drool...welcome to Nordic Cold Sweat, baby!

at the end of my snowshoe race on Day Two, ilg was feeling the effects of racing in 2 sports across 2 states...it was a Divine Start to my most cherished season...the season of the snows. photo by Ananda.

After my nordic ski race in Durango, i hooked up with locals Ferggie, Miles, and former National Mountain Biking Champion Travis Brown (who puts on the ultimate nordic ultra: Tour de Ski two weekends hence) to skate ski out the newly enhanced North Loop. North Loop is now cut and groomed in a dazzling serpentine line among lodgepole pines and aspens turning back toward the Nordic Center only when it comes within spitting distance of the Cascade Creek ice climbing area. After putting in another apres-race 15k, we headed down to Durango, at which point - fasting - i bolted in my own car back to Flag.

My sole/soul nourishment for the 5 hour trip across the snow-covered high desert was an audio recording of Paramahansa Yogananda's, AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI, gifted to me from Ferggie for the drive.

The great yogi's words - spoken exquisitely through the raja voice of Ben Kingsley - proved divine nutrition which far surpassed any need for physical food even given the fact of my high caloric expenditure of the morning. Contemporary nutritional experts would flip out if they knew of ilg's antics in this arena, however, that is only because they themselves have yet to practice that which must be practiced to shift from the archaic muscle & oxygen system toward that of the Pranic Saturation available to all Beings at all Times.

The 300 mile meditation shifted into a religious melody of Brahmanic Grace so intoxicating, that it was only near Tuba City whereupon i was able to fidget with my cell phone to let the girls know Daddy was a little over an hour away from home.
It was, without a shadow of a doubt, a drive not across a desert but rather a deeper drive within my Enlightenment potentiation. Unforgettable. 5 hours disappeared into what felt like 90 minutes. My body, feeling no effect from the racing, was as young as the evening beginning to slide across my Beloved Southwest.
Soon, Doko Oosliid carved her magnificence into the final composition of this most splendid pilgrimage.

Arriving back at the Temple H(om)e just in time for Dewa's bath,
it would be just a sliver of a moment before i would toe another Start Line
to yet another Pilgrimage...my own event; the Kahtoola sponsored, "Snow-Or-No" Showshoe Race...a USSSA National Qualifier.

The Start arrived without a warm-up for ilg. Rookie, New Daddy mistake. I took the first kilometer as slow as i could while keeping the front runners in sight. Attending the race were three National Class snow-lions; Sly Coons (founder of Tiger Global Athletics who has never lost this race, shown above in yellow), DJ (finished 4th place in Nationals last year; above in blue,) and local gazelle Jared (shown above in black/red; winner of Soulstice and Flagstaff Trail Marathon).

This race is event number one for the Flagstaff Winter Triathlon in which i have never been remotely tested. Versatility within winter endurance sports is apparently a rare find. Local 40+ runner, Mark Thurston would set the pace for us 'old guys' i figured. True enough, both he and Tobin (above in red), would eventually pass me out of the Course. i ran on the back of their webs for as long as i could. Thurston, methodically pumping away from Tobin and i on the 3k, 600' infamous "Lava Climb" to nearly 9,000'. With mantra-enforced effort, i hung like a badger onto Tobin pace...yet my knee lift was sinking in Titanic fashion with each stride. The nordic ski skate race of yesterday, plus the extra k's afterward, effectively dismantled the fast-twitch fibers required for snowshoe racing's mandatory, exaggerated knee lift.

i lost Tobin's pace on the final knee-cracking uphill about 2k from the Finish Line...though i did my Noble Best to close the gap through a long meadow stretch, it was not to be...there ain't no glide in Snowshoe Racing and when neural fatigue deepens, the right to fly is revoked and the racer is left in the burning sky of lactic acid pain and heaving lung bardo. photo by Ananda.

I came across the Finish Line in 3rd place in my Age Group, 6th Overall and was pleased. No one that finished in front of me do i consider threats to the Flagstaff Winter Triathlon's other two events; Classic Skiing and Skate Skiing. Daddy done go(o)d...and all was again, well in the high, snowy pines. photo courtesy of NATRA.

a hallmark WF start to my Winter Racing: 2 podiums (barely) in 2 sports over 2 states in 2 days...

"When you realize the Truth,
you are at home."
- Sri Swami Satchidananda

Who's getting older? Not the yogi who practices consistently!

This weekend kicked off my winter racing season;
2 Podiums in 2 Sports over 2 States in 2 Days.
Thanks to WF and especially her intradiscipline of HP Yoga®!

Above; after a brutal 10k high-altitude snowshoe race here in Flag, i ran head-long into the
smiles and kisses of Dewachen and Ananda; that is my real podi(om) these days!

i was actually called spontaneously by the Divine Mother (masquerading as Business) to my h(om)etown of Durango on Saturday.

Durango, fortunately, is just a jaunt down the road by Southwest standards...a mere 250 miles.

more or less.

that's just a Mantra roll, baby...

of course, whenever the Tao blows me into Durango, i gotta hook up with my chi-ldhood and mountain yogi bros.

one of the elite masters of all things Mountain Yoga in Durango is my dear friend, Andrew "Ferggie" Ferguson - my WF informal devotee of whom many of you shall recognize from prior DL entries of high end outdoor athletics. Ferggie called me, auspiciously, right as i was ripping up the On Ramp to I-25 (a landslide took out the 'backroute" Tuba City way) enroute to Durango via Gallup/Shiprock/La Plata Hwy.

"ilg?"
"Hey Ferggie! Whassup? I'm just leaving for Durango!"
"Really?!? Cool!"
"Yeah, man."
"So, there's a 10k Skate Race up at Durango Nordic Center on Saturday..."
"Really?" (i had consciously forgotten the date since i thought i would not be able to make it..."my" event of the "Snow-or-No" Snowshoe Race was in Flag on Sunday)..."Well, i did throw in my training skis just in case i could ski, i have a business appointment on Friday in Durango."
"Well, you gotta do the race...everybody will be there," came the convincing command from the multi-champion athlete.
"Awl right..i'll use it as training...i'll call you when i get into town."

***

in Durango, i'm staying with my BFL...Danny Shry. He's now like Chief of Police or something like that. to me, he is and all-ways shall remain Danny. he and i Connected in a Tibetan Way when i first appeared - scared, small, and unknown - in St. Columba Catholic School for 5th grade.

more on Danny later. he's only like the most like-able guy on the planet.

Ferggie is right there, too.

ilg is Blessed with Heavenly Realm friends* in Durango to this day.

Shry and i stay up late into the night reminiscing, relating, re-membering...oh! such sweet elixir to a human incarnation is the limitless joy of a lifelong best friend when still healthy 30 years post our youthful exuberances! Danny's beautiful wife, Wyn, stays right with us...as if entranced by the laughter of our recollections.

i eventually get to sleep and after a lovely ham-and-cheese croissant at Jean-Pierre Bakery in d-town Durango, i meet up with local stud Miles Venzara (from whom i bought my new killer sweet MTB which i named, of course; Miles) and Ferggie to carpool up to the race venue.

the Start/Finish Line at Durango's Coke Skate Ski 10k Race last saturday from my camera phone.

The drive up is chill with the boyz.

Miles, Ferggie and i pre-ski the Race Route which, we are informed, will be the Jr. National Nordic Race Course next weekend. They are going to start us in :30 intervals to get any bugs worked out of the timing system.

my chi-ldhood ski coach (of OUTDOOR and WINTER ATHLETE book fame) Mike Elliot - looking fresh at over 70 years young - is flying around in a dozen different places at once, just like i recall him. amazing father figure he was to me and still is. Tad, one of his two sons, just finished second to multi-Olympian Kris Freeman on a sea-level, flat course. Tad's weak links. Tad is turning down a spot on the USA Olympic Nordic Team because the stupidity of the IOC won't let Tad race Mountain Bikes if he attends the Olympics as a Nordic Team Member. Tad is the under-21 National Mountain Biking Champion. Yes, now you recall my DL about him, don't you? i used to hold Tad in my arms when he was a baby. now, he is my Multi-sport hero! it honors me that he uses WF as part of his training.

the Race Course is new Generation; 2 laps of a 5k killer loop whose salient features include dozens of knee-splitting short climbs followed by shallow recovery hills. i can't tell you how many races i've suffered on these nordic tracks yet never have i skied a course as dastardly as this one.

i jab my ski tip poles repetitively into the the already charred pockets beside the timing wand as if in a alpine ski race. though i'm relaxed and un-prepared for this spontaneous workout on my sacred chi-ldhood snows, i feel anxiety rush my veins like a Kundalini crack head. ilg wants to perform well in front of my hometown friends...DAMN! i shoulda brought my real race skis!

Miles started in front of me,
"Be nice when you pass me," the go(o)d-looking Durango endurance pro says to me...
"i'll try," i quip back.
as if.
in the Start Gate, i feel baggy. the only pants i brought were some backcountry Patagonia® pants which among this sea of skin-tight lycra looks as odd as an endurance athlete in his first yoga class.

i blast out of the Start Gate and nearly fall as my one-pointedness on an explosive start propelled me unwittingly into some powder near the left edge of the exquisitely groomed Race Course. i recover and pace my chi explosion on the first of many herringbone hills less than 30 meters from the Start.

Membrances thereafter:
mantra absorption,
by kilometer one i cannot even see Miles, let alone catch up to him,
mantra absorption,
Ferggie passes me at 1.5 ks at the top of the second killer hill,
mantra absorption,
i calculate Ferggie already two minutes in front of me by 4k,
mantra absorption wrapped in growing pain all over,
momentary glee at how well my spinal injury pain is not even present,
mantra absorption wrapped in growing pain all over,
skiing across the Start/Finish line for the first of my two laps...i feel decidedly ill
and ponder a way out of this aerobic Hell Realm,
mantra absorption wrapped in growing pain all over,
getting passed by Dom at 7k...and hating it,
mantra absorption wrapped in growing Joy all over,
feeling a m(om)ent of, "Yeah, but how many of the mofo's in front of me could beat me tomorrow in a snowshoe race?"
mantra absorption wrapped in growing Sacredness all over,
glimmering shints of Grandfather Sun off the Sacred Snows,
cheers of the Finish Line crowd and the Kundalini awakening sounds of Nordic cowbells being rung by spectators...to ilg? Nordic bells are the same resonance as Tibetan gongs...
collapsing across the Finish Line wondering...
"How in the hell will i ever recover to let alone drive back to Flag tonight,
much less race a snowshoe race tomorrow morning?"

the Mother Divine answered back without hesitation:
"Because you Trust in Me...that's how."

but that,
my Friends Along The Noble Path WF Yoga?
is another story...

* - friends...
spiritual meaning is to literally "Fry-the-End," which, of course, is perfectly clear to anyone who is Blessed with a lifelong best fry-end. time with your BFL has lost any potency of The End. everything is 'as it is' in the samadhic state; endless, joyful, unchanging, unconditional loving without judgment. like flashlights into fear; when we hang out with our best friends for life? every potential becomes illuminated with the fun and focus of boundless Blessing.

2 Podiums (barely) in 2 States in 2 Sports over 2 Days...

sorry Noble iDL Sangha,
been trying to post pics all day to no avail...

will attempt again tomorrow...

it's a Shiva Thing masquerading as a Blogger snafu to test our Practice of Patience, i reckon...

Go(o)d Bless,

Wise Fitness Expansion - Up The Peak, Off To Durango, Back Within...

this is a pic of where i grew up as a chi-ld. The creek is Junction Creek and this spot was right across the National Forest road from where i grew up with my half-wolf, Apache. he and i ruled these lands and those years set the cellular/spiritual tempo and intensity of nature gratitude for the rest of my life(work). i'm going to ski the Sacred Peak here in a few moments, then across the SW Desert i love so much to visit Durango on some business for a couple of days...until then, i want you all to contemplate the following during your WF Practice:

Our mind/body/spirit fitness expansion should reflect the patience of nature. people will read of my training volumes, my small amount of ingested calories, the lack of illness and super energy in my body, my meditation hours, and they think such things are impossible for them to attain.

that is not true.

ilg is a very feeble yogin. i had to create WF in order to keep myself whole and i knew that if a few other warriors would join me in multi-disciplined yogic work, it would be i that would benefit as much as they! that is how selfish ilg is!

there is a very natural, important manner in which our consciousness and fitness unfold. we must Listen. if we go too fast or jump into popular fitness or spiritual fads, we rattle our nerves, organ, bioenergetics, everything. that is why ilg doesn't allow my family or self to fly in airplanes except in rare situations.

Dewa has never been in an airplane. too fast of travel rattles the chakral fields, the nadic pulses, everything. (see my Teaching on how to preserve Prana during airplane and car travel) as we develop energetic sensitivity, we feel such amplified compression on our subtle anatomical fields and the last thing we want to do is fly in an airplane...air travel and even car travel to a lesser degree harms our Life Forces because we are not moving within our own capacity. Mental fluctuations increase as does the speed of our way of being.

Mind and fitness expansion should be practiced consciously through the 5 Noble Fitness Disciplines and more importantly through the 4 WF Lifestyle Principles. Then we begin to enjoy the wonder of gradual, safe, accumulation of inner attainments...like the layered way season snows grace our Mother Earth.

if Ilg gets smashed by a semi-truck, and if this is my last entry on this plane(t) - you never know*...then ilg wants these Last Words to be the following coaching counsel for my Magnificent Tribe:

THE LAST WORDS OF ILG (possibly?)

The Top Yogi Squat of 2009 - Warrior Leaf!

click on photos to enlarge the Chi Transmission

Hey Coach, sure hope your Wholiday was great, honestly. As for my wholiday it was about as genuine as it gets back home. I finally took some time to snap some pics. for my archives and I thought that I would share one of my favorites with you. This pic above is of the skeletal-frame of our sweat lodge. It sits a mere 100 yards from the house and is nestled among the arid junipers of home. Not only was it constructed by my Uncle, but, he is the one who conducts the ceremonies from time to time. The rack of clothes directly behind my yogi-squatting-can is what serves as....

coach's note:
Devoted DL Subscribers will recall Warrior Leaf from my "Old Oraivi Race Profile" from August, 2009. one of my most fierce, loving, humble, and selfless WF Warriors, "Diné" is sure to keep inspiring all of us in '010. Diné is getting ready to take on his first Snowshoe Race alongside me next weekend right here in Kinlani! Warrior Leaf received a special gift from the WF Temple, thanks to his embrace of the Path and more importantly, his bravely to walk it out loud! WARRIORS UP!!!!

Gumption, Effort, and Ecstasy

With gumption and enough effort...

ecstasy inevitably arrives.

So, for 2010...
how deeply will we be willing to let go?
how well are we going to be willing to love?

for what are we willing to remain consistent?

feeble ilg shall continue to love, pray, and express through his body, mind, and spirit that this year,
more than any other,
it is for Wholeness.
please join me.

- Happy New Year (of Practice)

photos by ilg:
1) Today, Ananda, Dewa, and i joined the masses out at Crowley Pit to enjoy scintillating sledding among the Ponderosa. Dewa, apparently re-member-ing (with) a recent incarnation of a sled dog enjoyed pulling her sled up the hills as much as "whee!'ing" down them. a chi-ldhood nickname of mine was, "uphill ilg"...hmmmm...

2) no caption needed; the Samadhic state of a well deserved chi-ldhood says it all.

3) that's my dad up top, my mom to my left, Dewa and Ananda on Yogi Christ's Day in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
