SIGNING UP WITH SUNRIDER Herbs; "The Secret Herbs of Wholistic Fitness since 1983"

Dearest Coach,
To "sign" someone up for SUNRIDER do I just give them my SR #?

Will you help them with your 3 step approach?

Love,
cerama

Coach Responds

Most Noble Master Student CeRama!
basically, you send them to the SR Corporate Website (see click below) and make sure they know your SR ID#, your name as SUNRIDER knows your name, and a Debit Card. have them hit JOIN on the SR Corporate Website and follow the prompts to Join as a DISTRIBUTOR (not Member or Retail). yes, as soon as i get a confirmation email from SUNRIDER that someone has signed up under you, i will Welcome Them to the ILG DOWNLINE and send them Instructions for my "3 Phase Approach". all SUNRIDERS in my downline receive my and Trish's (our Business Manager for SUNRIDER) complimentary guidance; a combined expertise of over 40 years with SUNRIDER!

***

now,
first things first;
get to know "YOUR" Herbal Shop where all of us WF Warriors buy direct from the most POTENT HERBAL GARDEN ON THE PLANET! do this:

#1)go to the SUNRIDER CORPORATE WEBSITE:

SUNRIDER Corporate Website

#2)take your time and visit at least the following clicks;

a) go under COMPANY, pull down menu; THE SUNRIDER JOURNEY. this is a fantastic History Lesson that reveals the authenticity and unmatched devotion of Dr. Chen's understanding of Chinese Herbs from the Ancient Herbal Manuscripts. Hint; place your cursor on the right edge of the slide presentation to enjoy a slow scroll through History!

b) go under PRODUCTS, pull down menu; STATE OF THE ART MANUFACTURING. okay, NOW have someone tell you that SUNRIDER HERBS are NOT the most concentrated, ingenious, pure, sterile, and potent whole foods in the WORLD! trust me, regardless of how impressive this Tour is online, i have been to this immense Herbal Manufacturing Temple. in person, it is MIND BLOWING the degree of expense, mindfulness, and incredible cleanliness of how Dr. Chen has produced what is truly, the State of the Art in worldwide Herbal Monopoly!

c) stay under PRODUCTS and enjoy all the clicks; especially interesting is the extremely hard to attain KOSHER CERTIFICATION. the PRODUCT PROFILE is an absolute gem to send to interested people and learn more about SUNRIDER's "SuperFoods", "SuperJuices" etc. check out also; ANTI-DOPING CERTIFICATION (SUNRIDER is sponsoring the Bejing Olympics!)

d)go under OPPORTUNITY, pull down menu; STARTING YOUR BUSINESS. basically, to 'work SUNRIDER full time' only requires about 5-10 hours per week. if you do that, you'll earn several thousand dollars per month within half a year. not bad for a $140 Join Up Fee! all you gotta do is; LISTEN to people's needs (everybody wants to lose bodyfat or have better sleep quality or be free of pain and have more energy), then TEACH people how to swap out products that they are already using with SUNRIDER PRODUCTS; Calli Tea instead of coffee, FORTUNE DELIGHT instead of soda, BEAUTY BAR instead of soap, VITASHAKE instead of vitamin pills, QUINARY instead of prescription and non-prescription drugs.

it is VERY EASY to SIGN UP people using the SUNRIDER Website. what follows is my standard HOW TO JOIN SUNRIDER email. for those of you who are already DISTRIBUTORS, just swap out your SR ID info for mine below. for those of you who are NOT yet joined up with SUNRIDER: use the below information and GET ON THE HERBS!

the very SECOND that i get a confirmation from SUNRIDER that YOU or someone YOU signed up has become a Distributor, then i pass onto them my "3-Phase Approach To SUNRIDER HERBS."

i will place this entire DL into the SUNRIDER CAVE in the WF SANGHALOUNGE for your future reference.

look for SUNRIDER CONFERENCE CALL from me soon!

here then is my standard email to interested people:

***

DEAR (NAME GOES HERE)

excellent call!
glad to hear you're ready to get cranking on the "secret herbs" of WF; SUNRIDER!

Dewa Dharma; A 2 1/2 Month Old's Translation of "Humpty Dumpty"

i took this picture of my 90 day-old baby-daughter-Teacher, Dewa, yesterday after She absolutely schooled my lame ass on the metaphysical and yogic translation of one of our most common Nursery Rhymes.

At first, when Ananda and i started to read the popular Nursery Rhymes to Dewa, we both thought, "Jesus, these stories are grim!"

i mean, c'mon...after all these generations THESE are the stories we first read to our kids;

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.

All the King's horses and all the
King's men couldn't put
Humpty together again.

However, Dewa was enraptured and looked easily at the pictures, seemingly Recognizing the characters in a Tibetan-reincarnation manner. So, i asked Dewa what She was seeing and feeling in these Nursery Rhymes that i was missing.

Here is what my 2 1/2 month old Teacher told me;

Line:
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,

Dewa's Commentary:
obviously the Word Choice of "sat" is a play on words; "sat" means that Humpty was "sitting in meditation" and also, "sat" is the yogic term for "Beingness" as in sat-chid-ananda or the blissful state of consciousness that arises when...

A WF ThanksGiving M(om)ent

Namaste Coach & Teacher Ananda,
a day of Thanks brings much awareness of things to be thankful for. WF being at the top of the list. Steve and i piled on the layers and rode in 37 degree weather with wind and slight sprinkling rain, that later turned to our first snow of the season, it was a pleasant re-minder of how fortunate i am to be traveling the path of WF.

Before dinner everyone starred at their plates with anticipation for everyone to sit down with their plates to begin. i asked my nephews to all share what they were thankful for that day, a lot of them began talking about all of their ‘stuff’ and then we each took a turn to be thankful for something that wasn’t ‘stuff’. By the time they all took their turn, the food had cooled and everyone ate just a bit slower. it warmed my heart to tell those lil guys that i was thankful to be sharing such a wonderful day with those that were special in my life and to see they all got little grins on their faces. i also said that i was thankful for the bird that gave it’s life…they all stopped and looked at me….’what?’ and i repeated what i had said….one of my nephews said…”uh, Aunt Shawna, i don’t think this bird gave it’s life, i think someone took it.” (kids are so darn smart)… i smiled and said, “you’re right, all the more reason to be even more grateful for the nourishment it is providing all of us.” After we finished we all gazed out the window at the bird feeder and there were a few woodpecker’s that arrived. Now, Coach you told me to find out what the real names of those woodpeckers are and after searching there are 100’s of names for those picidae…we were visited by a Pileated woodpecker and i think what was a Hairy Woodpecker….i TAF you are requesting me to tell you a different name for ‘woodpecker’ and i am not certain where to search.

between your DL entry on “The Go(o)d Foundation” with inspiration from - Sogyal Rinpoche and Student L’Gate’s entry, it inspired me to get The Tibetan Book on Living and Dying. upon ordering a copy on Amazon, their ‘based on the books that you order’ it was recommended that i read Steve Ilg – The Winter Athlete…

Teacher Ananda, it was great seeing you back on your blog and that little Dewa….oh what a beautiful sight!

Namaste,
ms.s

Tearing Off My Mask; Expand or Remain a Zombie Floating In Between Realms...

i don't know why They give these 'fitness guru' jobs to us chumps.

i really don't.

for 25 years i've somehow masqueraded around this Outer World as some form or another as a type of fitness, or worse, a spiritual expert. of course, to some degree, i've perpetuated this guise; you know, the unmatched sport performance resume, the physique which houses a physiology and form that i can change on a dime, and my spiritual training and expression of Dharma protection and service. so yeah, i know full well what antics ilg is up to. fortunately, through it all i've never taught anything that i do not know by Direct Experience.

however, here is the Truth beyond the form and function and expression of ilg;
i know nothing.

so cavalierly,
so frequently
born are 'blogs' of so many 'personal trainers' and 'yoga teachers' and 'life coaches'.

by comparison?

their "Flash" software illusions on their websites,
their seeming Know-It-All 'knowledge' seems so,
so,
so impressive to my comparative lack of...
well,
Flash.

how many of these blogs would survive if "Subscription Only" was mandatory?
no ads.
no affiliates.
no nothing
save for the author's own Chi?

ilg wonders at the bravado of nearly everyone
and
why are so many
so more confident in the Outer World than i?

by Tibetan vow
ilg is only allowed to Teach...
...to Share
by these pre-requisites fashioned from my young exuberance so long ago;
1) Teach only what you know by Direct Experience
and
2) Teach only that which is kind, true, and helpful.

feeble ilg wonders;
what if every blog author did that?

here is what feeble ilg knows;

my cat at night, svelte as starlight seeping into my cells.
the chronic sting of multiDisciplined pain, constant yet immune to my rationale.
fan letters trickling into my humble Temple...a high mountain stream of chi throughout the decades
seeping like limestone moisture
into the crevices of my Soul
how am i to refuse Serving?
Flash or not?

The Most Yogic Of "Mainstream" Holy-days...HAPPY, WHOLISTIC THANKSGIVING!

A heart to you on this ThanksGiving Day...without your support of my humble, powerful Temple? Transpersonal Fitness would be as extinct as is the Dinosaur Being that left his HeartShaped footprint upon HopiLand...

This is an easy one. Some of our Western economically driven "Holy-Days-turned-Holidays" can really dredge some deep confusion about what these HolyDays have turned into for the Awakened Fitness Warrior.

Fortunately, today, ThanksGiving Day, holds very little philosophical snafu for the yogically inclined. For, in our humble, powerful Tribe, we are trained to sit in meditation; stabilizing our Mind Waves which inevitably shakes off layers of egoic pretense and strips us, nakedly, toward the shining quality of Gratitude.

Even if you are not a formal WF Student, perhaps today is a wise day to revisit my notion of a Gratitude Journal as described in my most recent book, TOTAL BODY TRANSFORMATION. At least, today, before absorbing the 10,000 efforts and lives associated with our HolyDay Meal, pray at the table. Be the Leader of a Gratitude Meditation for your meal...one of the Traditional WF Mealtime Blessings, which i learned in Japanese during my formative Zen years and is now passed onto my Online WF Students goes like this:

"The first morsel is to destroy all evil.
The second morsel is to practice good deeds.
The third morsel is to save all sentient beings...
May we attain Dewachen."

May you practice well other important WF Teachings such as; Earned Sustenance, Rasas Eating Assignment, Eating Elegantly Assignment, et.al.. The artful self science in WF offers an immense banquet for Self Cultivation in the hours before your gathering. Be it a solo, small, or enormous family gathering does not matter. Here is what matters; How well can you Love today? How deeply can you cultivate Gratitude today? How willing are you to let go of silly things that do not lead you Higher?

In the Spirit of All Yoga Teachers who dedicate their lives to reflect the integrity of the Ancient Enlightened Masters,
this feeble messenger sends only my deepest Gratitude for you...

oh,
and Ananda finally made it to her beautiful Blog yesterday in order to send you some Love...

Sweeping Air...and...i release my Mula Bandha Audio Meditation!

so there i was the other week, fully immersed in my mantra while doing one of my Morning Rituals; Zen Sweeping along the Buddha Garden Path. Suddenly, this lady comes walking hard upon Mother Earth, turning toward me right around the corner in my own backyard. Startled like a deer from my inner reverie, i regained my lost mantra composure and peaceful countenance nearly within the same instant. Recovery is everything in life. You know, in sports performance, usually it is he or she who recovers fastest - heart rate wise, neurally wise, physiologically wise - who wins. Well, in the Spiritual Journey, the same notion is even more vital to winning the Human Race (attainment of Enlightenment/end of Cyclic Existence). In the same way recovering from hard efforts while bike racing or running can get you onto the podium, recovering your mantra during daily life is really, really everything.

i mean everything!

why?

ilg will tell you why.

it's all about our Bardo Entry; that is, that ultra critical mOMent while, anticipated or unexpectedly we take our Last Gasp; our final breath, our exit wind. the Mind Quality at that mOMent is our 'hole shot' into the Bardo; the nearly 50 Consciousness Realms of high intensity that we all must navigate before taking another body in any one of the Six Realms.

so the other day i was

PLEASE DO NOT MISS THIS ULTRA IMPORTANT TEACHING WHICH IS ALSO VERY FUNNY!...Only on Today's DL Subscription Format!

ps; yesterday, i released my MULA BANDHA AUDIO MEDITATION. i attempted to email many of you. i am watching closely who is hungry for this Precious Teaching. little response dictates what type of DVD and AUDIO products i release in the future. you are pacing me to Coach you as High as you wish...you show me your Hunger for the Real Inner Workouts, and i will Serve you at that level. if you want to keep my work with you in the lower chakra realms like just focusing on bodyfat loss, sport performance, and physical fitness stuff; fine. we'll play that game. just remember, i only got about five more years of public Teaching in this manner...you better be sure you 'train' me to Serve you in the Highest Way you want! you can order the Mula Bandha Audio Meditation on the WholisticFitness.com Pro Shop under Pay Per MPEG category. and no, i ain't gonna provide a hyperlink to take you directly to my Mula Bandha Meditation you lazy mofo! ilg is not here to train lazyness into you, regardless of what may be 'more effective business techniques' on my end. if you ain't got the gumption to take a few more seconds to work your way over to my Online Pro Shop and order the Mula Bandha Audio Meditation? i promise you this much, you ain't ready to climb up the Steep and Direct Path of where i would really, really like to climb with you!

Top Ten Outward Signs of a Changed Warrior; Master Student L'gate offers a Precious Checklist!

Coach,
Namaste! Your "Top 10" DL the other day got me musing on "Top 10 Signs WF has changed my life". There are a bunch of obvious physical changes - tighter abs, increased aerobic capacity, etc.. Some less obvious, and potentially more interesting, things on the list:

The Liranzo / Ludgate family - barefeet, bared souls. Our whole clan drops shoes and socks at the door these days. Back in 2003, when I suggested this practice, my wife said "it's not lady like to go barefoot". I passed that feedback onto you, and your response was "is it ladylike to hobble around on brittle feet?" She said "point taken", and has been on board ever since.

Yoga toes, yoga toes, yoga toes: The missus and I are never far from these magical devices, and I have probably put 10 or more friends / family into them over the past few years (if only I could get that many people in my Sunrider downline!)

If I'm workin', I'm rollin': Gave away the home office chair some time ago, replaced with a big, beautiful, blue physio ball. Older son Lucas just got his first desk, and he asked for a ball to sit on as well.

Bugs are people too: In my youth, I prided myself on my fly swatter technique, engaged in one-up contests with my Dad to see who could take out the most six legged critters (extra credit for getting them in mid-flight). Flying or crawling, we now guide these friends to outdoor freedom. Especially treasure the spiders who have taken up residence on our deck - what amazing beings they are to study. We had two noble spider friends this summer, named by my boyz "Charlotte" (obvious) and "Rock and Roll All Night" (3 year old Isaac's idea).

Training To Die...

DO NOT MISS THE INCREDIBLE INSIGHTS FROM THIS FANTASTIC EPITOME OF A FITNESS WARRIOR: READ THIS TOP TEN LIST, CHECK OUT THE PICTURES OF THIS VERSATILE WARRIOR AND YOU TELL ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THE TRANSFORMATIVE PERSONAL GROWTH POWER OF WF, BABY!

***
coach's note:
i granted a non-dramatic WF Master Student Inka to L'gate a while ago. non-plussed by this highest recognition available in my System, L'gate still signs off as simply, "Student L'gate", testimony to his understanding of the humble nature of a WF Master Student. This guy 'gets It' with a capital "I". Regardless of any tardy communication from me, he never complains, keeps his account up to date, always does at least one Private Intensive per year, and showers the Temple with so much humor and generosity. my lifework and my life has been deeply Blessed by the presence of my Beloved Warrior, Master Student L'gate!

Photo 1) L'gate displaying hallmark WF Running Form at the Pfalz Point Challenge, a 10 mile journey of what L'gate describes as" trail running Nirvana." He goes on to describe his Master Student approach to his Race Day; "Slowly and calmly engage Mula Bandha and Uddiyana and breathe my way through WF toilet yoga, pranayama, and a couple of inversions. Today's race is open meadows, carriage paths, single track, killer views of the Shawagunk Ridge (the "Gunks" to you rock climbing types), vegan chili and cornbread waiting at the finish line - it all adds up to one positive vibration. This is my second year running Pfalz POint, and my modest goals are to improve on my time (1:27:17) and place (114th out of 300) from the prior year. I also looked to this as a test of Coach's "Weekend Warrior" program (available for purchase by Pay Per PDF on the Tribal Pro Shop!). I intentionally limited myself to the moderate intensity and duration of those workouts, figuring this race would be a great validator of that program's ability to crank me for an "epic" weekend adventure. This race was blue collar effort all the way - definitely didn't have much jump in the old legs this day. So how did I do? Improved my time by over two minutes (1:25:11) and got 20 spots closer to the podium (94th out of 300). Also worth mentioning the inspirational showing by the crew of cadets from West Point, which is just down the road. These warriors in training (some 20 strong) showed up with strong character, strong spirit, and strong upper bodies (no wispy running physiques in this crowd). Through force of will and power, they swept the under 20 and 20-29 age groups for both men and women. Their future may be daunting, but they were fully present and alive this fine fall day.

"The Stuff Of Life."; Awakening is Painful...

This Actual Student Exchange is typical of precisely why most conventionally trained fitness
people steer well, well away from the Fire of WF which is so confrontational with our egoic masks.
I have designed the Practice of WF to bring each one of into the yogic fire of self-cultivation by self-examination
in myriad ways. This Noble Student's beautiful photos of wildness confirm the essential need for the spiritual grounding
and elevation derived by getting out and sweating among Nature.

Dearest Coach,

This DL Teaching from you hits very close to home.

"Taking life seriously does not mean spending our whole lives
meditating as if we were living in the Himalaya Mountains or in the
old days in Tibet. In the modern world, we have to work to earn our
living, but we should not get entangled in a nine-to-five existence,
where we live without any view of the deeper meaning of life.

Our task is to strike a balance, to find a middle way, to learn not to
overextend ourselves with extraneous activities and preoccupations,
but to simplify our lives more and more. The key to finding a happy
balance in modern life is simplicity."

Sogyal Rinpoche

***

I think a lot about my life(style), as a working dad and husband, and
wonder, is it really what life is all about? There is so much extraneous
activity and material stuff in my life, it drives me batty. My greatest
pleasures in life are spending quality, balanced time with my kids, my
wife, and my friends.

I feel chained to a 9 to 5 existence, four weeks vacation, bonuses if I
work extra hard. The work of my life right now between my job, my kids,
my house, my relationship with my life, is relentless, non-stop, barely a
moment to truly breathe and smell the flowers. Even my pursuit of
physical fitness feels relentless at times; always striving for more,
better, stronger, faster...

THE WF EPITAPH SERIES #1; A Meditation Exercise

"That goodness is what survives death, a fundamental goodness that is in each and every one of us. The whole of our life is a teaching of how to uncover that strong goodness, and a training toward realizing it." - Sogyal Rinpoche,

My earliest formative spiritual training was the Tibetan Mountain Lineage. That Path has remained firm throughout my incarnation. In this Steep and Direct Practice, the ongoing practices of various "Tibetan Death Meditations" is required. I cannot tell you more about this practice in this forum though, through the years and thousands of words in these Teachings, you have been privy to a cloud misting of them. Such Teachings have been permeating within your cells as long as you have taken faithful pilgrimage to this forum.

One Practice that i now release is what i call, EPITAPH AWARENESS. What is an Epitaph? It is an inscription over a tomb - your tomb - which attempts to reflect the Song You Came Here To Sing. This exercise works simply and directly upon our mortality consciousness. Be prepared to experience some rather volatile emotional fallout from this exercise. As those of you who are practicing Meditation already know by Direct Experience, the ego absolutely abhors any effort given toward killing it...

Shishya Tina B on the WF Notion of 'Clinical Elevation'

the priceless value of "Sangha"; the community of like-minded warriors - is perhaps one of the most important shining jewels of a Fitness Lifestyle. it's impossible to stay depressed when you create an environment of friends who understand the necessity of a sweat-based approach to personal growth. clowning around before high-end suffering in a bicycle criterium with my Red Rock Racing teammates. photo by Ananda.

As an Assignment for her WF Online Studies,
Shishya Tina B was to provide an Essay on my recent DL Teaching titled:
Clinical depression VS Clinical elevation

So strong sang the Dharma through her response,
i felt all of us could benefit our Practice today from her words.

It has all-ways confused feeble ilg why the Outer World consistently defaults to
the "Victim Mentality" instead of reaching down,
grabbing themselves by their Mula Bandha,
and use their Holy Water of Sacred Sweat to Rise Above the temporary and natural depressions of
the mind. Vibrational Fitness is what Heals and Empowers. And to Vibrate our Cells and give upward
rise to the dormant Cosmic Power Within (Kundalini), guess what? We gotta get INTENSE:
INTENSE with Breath Control (Pranayama and Cardio and ST and Asana)
and
INTENSE with using our Dharma Sword of Wisdom to Slay Predictable Patterns of habit and tendency.

There ain't nothin' on this plane(t) like the natural, tribal, crazy wisdom of WF
and there SURE as hell ain't nothin' on this plane(t) like a WF Warrior!

My work is often imitated, i know...you can stop sending me examples of all the "Ilgitators" as Student Wells
calls them. That does not matter. What matters is you and i and the genuine Nature of our Beloved Path.
Remember what i first Taught you about the notion of WF Lifestyle Principle #3; Appropriate Action =
"Ripples Makes Waves."

each thought, each action we perform affects all the Guna's and all the Beings In All The Six Realms.

i'd be honored to die (once again) on the BattleDance Field with any one of you...why?
Because of your Sincere Motivation and respect of our humble, powerful Path since
long, long, loooooong before 1982

Om So Ti,

Essay #1

Clinical depression VS Clinical elevation

The excuse of being too busy is the excuse of the undisciplined mind. The undisciplined mind is the one which cannot take a m(om)ent and feel it, own it, be it. The busyness of life surrounds us all in it’s own form. It’s how we choose to be in this busy life that makes us each a unique individual. It’s the choice of an individual to fall into the fast paced society and struggle to keep up, or be the individual who sets and sticks to a the appropriate pace. There may be times it’s appropriate to accelerate, to speed up and take it on! There are also times it is appropriate to decelerate and enjoy the scenery and the depth of life.

The mind without discipline will continue full speed ahead with more noise and more chatter until properly trained. This is the state of mind that is continuously wrestling to keep up but always feels left behind. This mind is the mind that looks for the quick and easy solution because there are too many other things to deal with at this time. Oh, the hectic life of a human being. If only there were more time in a day. The constant feeling of being tired, restless, irritable, overweight! If only there was a magic pill that could make things easier… that would be the answer. “Please Doc! Help me! I can’t take it anymore!” Of course the doctor has to get rid of the large quantity of Zoloft the attractive pharmaceutical representative was able to make that large commission off this morning. “Take this pill 3 times a day and let me know how you are feeling in a couple of weeks,” the Doc says. “Be sure to see the receptionist on your way out.” Meanwhile, 2 weeks later the patient walks around the world like a zombie with no feelings positive or negative but life seems to be a bit easier to deal with. Until, hmmm...

"Go Out And Breathe God!" - HP Yogini and Zen Woman Leslieh Takes The WF Dharma Pulpit Today

"Go out and breathe God!" - instructed Sasaki Joshu Roshi. That's precisely what i've attempted to bring to the Westerners notion of Personal Fitness.

Although i could wear my Naropa monks robes for you,
i find that if i wear them, too many people bow superficially and it sets up difficulty with
my SvaDharma of bridging Western Fitness to the Eastern Enlightenment Sciences...

...so i dress in the robes of a what a Western Fitness Monk should wear; breath and elegant posture in all circumstances...

...the robes of a Western Fitness Monk should change with the multi-disciplined application of Big Mind, Small Ego, and Tons of Sweat, Stillness, Focused Fun,and most of all: Inspirational Kindness To All Beings In All The Realms. Sometimes we can inspire others to breathe and move just by going for an inline ski skate!

i hand over the DL Dharma Pulpit to my MOST BELOVED and BRAVE and BEAUTIFUL Shishya Leslieh whose Engaged Practice in every moment that i am near Her, is a radiant ember of Roshi's Gleaming Dharma Sword...

Dear Coach,
I find myself deeply pondering your teaching today. Although, you are "dressed" as Teacher Ilg, I found myself "hearing" the actions of many of my early "old" zen teachers attempting to get through the intellects of students like myself. My "first" teacher Sasaki Joshu Roshi is now 100 years old. He kindly, ruthlesslly, methodically worked decontructing my intellect for many years - a thankless task I am sure- I remember the day (actually it after midnight) at a seven day practice period under Sleeping Ute Mountain- four times a day we came into Roshi's interview room and did our thing....intellectually trying to impress him with our understanding of our koan...finally with me, Roshi began ringing the dismiss bell BEFORE I even got in there. I can still here him laughing and ring the bell More zazen he bellowed. Finally, my intellect could stand it no longer and I gave up trying to have an answer for Roshi that was slick, clever, cute. I arrived at Roshi's door fully expecting to be rung away. He invited me in, and I will never forget his eyes looking into mine. Gone was the laughing bellowing chastising Roshi. he said to me...

The WF "Side Effect" of Never Being Bored

The following response is to Chris Tucker, currently studying life in Shanghai, from veteran Online Student Anne in NJ.
This thread is just one of several hundred that are ongoing, poetic, poignant, and potent in the Chill Out Sacred Space of the WF SanghaLounge; complimentary to ALL DL SUBSCRIBERS and WF Students! Hi Chris,

One of the most powerful "side effects" of my work with the Ilgman has been the disappearance of boredom from my life. I don't recall any overt teaching on the subject. The transformation took place organically. And, actually, fairly quickly.

I'm just never bored.

And it's interesting to me that you bring up your trips up Grouse because just yesterday I ran on the trail near my house. It's a very modest trail compared to Grouse Mountain. About two and a half miles long. It's flat. Pretty much a straight shot through deciduous forest, along some open feral farmer's fields and then skirts a large corn field. There's no real view, except of the Hampton Inn that overlooks the corn field. There's a lumber yard at one end just after the trail goes under the interstate. As I ran, I thought about how much I love that trail. How fortunate I am to have it nearby. And how I never get bored with it. Some weeks, I'm on that same trail every day.

There are deer everywhere. The trail plays tag with a small river. I often see a great blue heron meditating on the river banks. Last week, I snuck up on a red fox hunting near the corn field. We often hear woodpeckers calling back and forth through the trees. In spring, there are depressions along the side of the trail -- signs that a new batch of turtles hatched and successfully dug their way to the surface. And last winter, my husband and I found a racoon skull in some grasses near the corn field. There are so many stories along this trail, I'm amazed that all this is in New Jersey.

As I was running, I wandered mentally off into speculation, wondering what it would look like if we could see the energy trails that we leave behind and I imagined my trail would show up especially bright because I've walked and run it so many times in the past 4 years. And then I wondered if the fact that I'm constantly chanting the Sacred Mantra while I walk and run along that trail has imbued it with any kind of sacred vibe. And then my mind wandered off onto some other topic.

So, long rambling post to say: Hang in there. Keep practicing. WF will disappear the boredom.

Namaste,
Anne

Dewa Dharma; Day 50 And Time For Her First High Altitude Prana Hike!

"There are many ways of amplifying and redirecting the Pran in our bodies from the lowest centers (chakras) toward the highest. WF achieves this in the most practical way for Westerners who think they have "so little time" for "exercise" or "self cultivation" yet still, like All Beings in All Realms, just really want to be happy, peaceful, and Fearless of Death. The practicality of WF Online Training is paced at the Student's willingness and never, ever ventures outside the Sacred Scriptures to develop what i call, "The Nuts and Bolts of Enlightenment" through Personal Lifestyle Fitness."

excerpt from today's DL Subscription Format!

"The Awakened Yogi, knowing of the inevitability of pain mingled with pleasure which makes up a human incarnation, attempts through steadfast Practice to slay plurality, watching all duality become diluted in the Holy Water of one's Sweat until all separateness fades into the growing, luminosity of Oneness.

Being Gifted a child brings up ones own mortality as well as the utter preciousness of life with a resounding depth recollected from countless lifetimes across the Six Realms. Though the Pain of an Awakened Life be great to the Yogi, it should be worshipped daily through Sweat and Spirit for not only in Pain does the Yogi trust as a portal Higher, he or she knows and trusts in an even greater albeit formless Go(o)d known as Prana. To trust in Prana over Pain may require for some of us 10,000 lives. Maybe more."

DL Makes It So Clear...

Hello Coach,

Your DL of 11/4 was awesome. Direct (as usual) and clear. Thank you. When I
read you it becomes so clear why I chose WF and asked you to teach me.

I did get a short training session in. I am in poor shape. It's all good.
Felt good to be on the bike and push some iron. More to come.

EMR*, left hand knowledge and use, breath and posture always.

Namaste

Please Practice sincerely today; and do so in honor of our Fallen Brother of Sweat and Spirit.

Since WF made Her first ripple from me 25+ years ago, i have Taught personal fitness and sport performance not from a standpoint of standing on top of podiums or to lose bodyfat or any other quality that is merely a by-product of what matters most: to use our Personal Fitness as a most powerful Vehicle of Enlightenment. Because, well, you just never know.

You just never know...only Brahman knows.

NEW YORK -- Ryan Shay and Ryan Hall hoped to celebrate together with their wives after the U.S. men's marathon Olympic trials.

Now Hall, the trials champ, faces a future of all he dreamed about and what he never imagined: the glory of the Olympics, the heartbreak of a funeral.

Shay, one of America's top distance runners, collapsed and died not even six miles into Saturday's race. Minutes after Hall crossed the finish line in record time, his arms raised in triumph, he heard the unthinkable news.

Shay was 28. An enlarged heart may have contributed to his death. He was one of Hall's former training partners, and his wife was Hall's college teammate at Stanford.

"That just cut me straight to the heart," Hall said. "It makes you forget what you just did."

Shay trained in Flagstaff with his wife, Alicia, through the Center for High Altitude Training at Northern Arizona University. Director Natalie Harlan called Shay a leader among the local running community and a "fine and gracious human being."

Added Harlan: "There were many Flagstaff-based runners in New York City today either competing in, or watching the trials, and those of us who are here in Arizona will be ready to support them upon their return to Flagstaff."

Abdi Abdirahman, who dropped out of the marathon because of injury, trained with Shay for the past 3Ãn months in Flagstaff.

"I'm speechless. I still don't believe it," he said. "I probably was the last person to talk to him. We ate breakfast together, we ate lunch together, went to bed at the same time."

Shay's coach, Joe Vigil, said he wasn't aware of any health problems. "He was the epitome of athleticism," Vigil said. "I don't know what caused it."

On Friday, Hall and his wife, Sara, and Shay and his wife, Alicia, went for a run in Central Park. Shay seemed fine, Sara Hall said.

The Halls and Alicia were teammates at Stanford. Sara Hall considers Alicia one of her closest friends; she was a bridesmaid at the Shays' wedding in July.

It was in New York two years ago while watching the NYC marathon that Shay met his future wife. Alicia, who's hoping to make it to Beijing in the women's 10,000, was a two-time NCAA champion and the collegiate 10,000-meter record-holder while running as Alicia Craig at Stanford.

At the 2004 Olympic men's marathon trials, Shay was a favorite going in but was hampered by a hamstring strain and finished 23rd.

On Wednesday, Shay reflected on that time.

"I've had a few downs -- since 2004, I've had injuries here and there, but I've come back and I've been able to get in the training that I feel I need," he said at a news conference. "This is the best U.S. marathon field we've had in a long time, but I guess that's why you run the race -- to see who has it in the end."

RECEIVED CPR

On Saturday, Shay went down near the Central Park boathouse, a popular Manhattan tourist spot. New York Road Runners president Mary Wittenberg, whose organization hosted the event, said Shay received immediate medical attention but would not elaborate on what steps were taken. A statement from USA Track & Field said Shay immediately received CPR.

"He crossed right in front of me and stepped off the course," said runner Marc Jeuland of Chapel Hill, N.C., who did not see Shay collapse. "He nearly tripped me. He would not have been taxed at that point."

Shay was born May 4, 1979, in Ann Arbor, Mich., the fifth of eight children in a running family. His parents are the cross country and track coaches at Michigan's Central Lake High School.

His father, Joe, said he was first diagnosed with a larger- than-normal heart at age 14.

Joe Shay told The Associated Press his son was cleared for running this spring by doctors but was told he might have need a pacemaker when he is older.

And years ago, after a car accident as a 16-year-old, Shay said doctors re-evaluated Ryan's heart and determined it had gotten even larger. Each time, he said, they believed it was because Ryan was a runner.

"But he never complained about it," Shay said.

Sutra Studies continued...

beating the Dharma drum to affect my vibrational status before meditation in the Tribal Zendo.

"Attachment follows the experience of pleasure -
Aversion follows the experience of pain -
Clinging-to-life is the sentiment which causes its own potency to flow equally even in the wise -
Their operations are to be got rid of by meditation."

- Bengali Baba's translation of The YogaSutra of Patanjali, 2: 7-11

***

"Attachment follows the experience of pleasure -"

i have Taught you much about Vairagya - or Attachment - in this forum throughout the years.
another translation of this sutra: sukha-anusayi ragah is:
"Attraction is clingling to pleasure."
the Sanscrit key word here is: sukha or easy (remember Sukhasana or Easy Pose in the asana? a simple cross-legged position?). nowhere in the Sutra's does Patanjali pass judgment on what is 'right' or 'wrong'. Here, He is just reMinding us that it is not Pleasure itself that is the obstacle toward Enlightenment, rather it is 'our' clinging to it that begets all of our difficulties in liberation of our True Self. remember, we are just DreamWalking in our normal consciousness. what 'we' think pisses us off or makes us happy is utter illusion, just like the dreams we experience in our physical sleep. we are only the "seer"...the "experiencer" yet, we are being instructed here that what we think "we are" is merely a rolling along of Awareness that is going to be attracted and inevitably cling to the experience of pleasure. we take a Sleep Aid and we enjoy the pleasurable shutting off of our rattling mind by sleeping. we then look forward to, over and again, this taking of sleep aid. we enjoy the rush from our morning coffee and we want to replicate that pleasurable experience; over and again until we develop a habit. we find out at an early age, the scintillating sensations of masturbation and perhaps, of sex...and we DEFINITELY WANT to replicate that pleasurable experience; over and again until we develop a sex habit. we win a race and we enjoy the clapping from the people below us on our podium; we become so entranced by the pleasure of such accolades that we become addicted in one sport to the harm of our wholistic development and balance in life and relationships. contemplate on the implications of what i am saying here.

"Aversion follows the experience of pain -"

When i went to preliminary schools, there was a Physical Education class. if we caused trouble, we were instructed to "go run five laps." thus, running became viewed as a form of penance; painful. many kids then equated physical fitness (running) with pain. their obstacle in the spiritual path grew metaphysically into not understanding that aversion is merely the...

Shishya Tina B Gets The Online Training Transmission and Things Are "Rocking"

"The Path works...
when YOU work the Path!"
- coach ilg

Hola El Coache!

I trust things are well with you. I have been long gone from the Country for a greater time than expected for good reason.

My most meaningful m(om)ent is featured above.  This day we went on a very technical rock hopping adventure up a river bed.  I was not nervous until it came time to dive.  Head first?  Ya... us gymnasts land feet first... But I knew I could do it.  I took a deep breath (WF Lifestyle Principle #1; YEAH!), stayed calm, and got the shot on the first dive!  It was a meaningful m(om)ent for this:  I was in Mexico with a client and her family and I was working with them each day on some form of movement, training, meditation... I then began conducting research on the fitness industry, yoga schools, and Chiropractic and sports medicine clinics.  I am considering a business in Puerto Vallarta within this scope.  The opportunity is SO calling my name!!  This m(om)ent of jumping off the rock... head first...  was really the apex of the trip and helped me to see that I can do it.  I can make it happen.  I have to just go for it, dive in, head first, and have fun doing it!  It's a great adventure and there are so many things leading and guiding me down that path.  I'm returning to Mexico December-January to continue this project.  This can be something very powerful!

I'm off to teach a couple of classes.

Om Shanti
Namaste'
