The Race Director of the Chili Ski Classic apologized yesterday to me after she and other race organizers re-calculated the Combined Event times from last Sunday's 37th running of the Chili Ski Classic...here is the report to the Arizona Daily Sun:

Flagstaff yoga teacher, Steve Ilg, captured the King Of The Mountain
(Overall Championship) at the 37th Annual Chile Ski Classic, held on Sunday, January 17
at Cumbres Pass near Chama, New Mexico.

The prestigious, long-running event attracted over 122 racers competing in various distances in Classic Ski and Snowshoe Racing. Ilg finished 2nd Overall in the 10-kilometer Classic Ski segment, and 7th overall in the 5-kilometer Snowshoe Race. His combined time for both events - 1 hour and 29 minutes - bested all others in the Combined Event by nearly 11 minutes.

Ilg begins his attempt to retain the Arizona State Nordic Championship this Sunday (January 31st) at Flagstaff Nordic Center in the 15-kilometer Classic Ski Race for Race #1 of the two-race series.
The second and final ski race of the season will be a 15-kilometer Skate Ski Race also held at
