riding to "Switzerland"...

this is Ouray, Colorado (aka; the Start Line for Imogene Pass Run). click to enlarge. This "Switzerland of America" is 75 miles, 3 mountain passes over 11,000' away. i'm riding there this morning and taking Joy, Dewa, and Joy's dad; Jerry, camping here for 2 nights. i reckon i'll be feeling the GNARLY FUN HP PROP Workout that was cranked out last night in the Cave of Champions as i pedal over the passes...yet, that is what WF is all about: Intelligent, Yet Crazy Wisdom Workouts That Fuel Wholenesss.

So, enjoy the Archives and the SanghaLounge,
keep your Practice strong,
keep the Mantra close,
and you and i shall endlessly be training Higher together
during (y)our moments of Sacred Sweat and Deep Stillness...

head bowed,
your feeble teacher

First, CONGRATULATIONS to Ananda (Joy), my Beloved Partner and absolutely the most amazing m(om) for Dewachen...Joy is now teaching HP Yoga Slow Flow at the Durango Recreation Center each Tuesday morning from 7-8 am. Lucky, lucky Rec Center folks! So, all of you that are visiting Durango, you've got three weekly chances now to catch an HP Yoga® class...and, more coming! photo by ilg this morning of Dewa and Ananda.

so, where we live is right beside the Sacred River; the Rio De Las Animas Perdidas (the River of Lost Souls). a bike path goes right along the River in front of our h(om)e...nearly everyone is doing a double-take as they pedal or jog along and see something red in the middle of the rushing river...but..what could it be? ....look closer...

...hey, they didn't call it the River of Lost Souls for nothing...this kayak is completely wrapped around a boulder...where is the kayaker?

WF History; bouldering

photo for DL Subscribers only...also shown in my book; THE WINTER ATHLETE

WF Chi Hit from the past...steve ilg on the never-repeated "Balloon Saloon Traverse,"
Pagosa Springs, Colorado. circa 1990. i called it the Balloon Saloon because the route was this excruciatingly long traverse along a historic wall of an old saloon in downtown Pagosa Springs, and you had to be as light as a balloon to make it. so much as breathe too heavily, and you'd be off. and i fell off this thing a hundred times or more over the course of an entire summer. i had to get my bodyfat to 2% before i was successful on this route and you can see how lean i was! it's always a matter of 'how bad do you want it?' photo by Jennifer Heightley.
