Dewa Direct MAP Intake? The Vitality of Brain and Neural Fitness Development in Chi-ldren

"I find it a funny thing. People will go to all sorts of stupid expenses to buy shampoo, conditioners, and lotions which promote the importance of Amino Acids...yet, to get those same people to commit to a categorically more important Amino Acid formula for their long-term cellular health? They brand you a snake-oil salesman!
It doesn't matter how many podiums i top,
how many dis-eases and illnesses i've thwarted by this simple product, they still think,'Oh it's too expensive.'
To ilg?
The thing that is MOST EXPENSIVE in life
and MOST DETRIMENTAL to sport and fitness performance?
Is
NOT getting on and staying on MAP Amino Acids!"

- coach steve ilg
sponsored athlete/yogi; BodyHealth's MAP Amino Acids

Above: Dewachen Ilg with "Sabba"...her Marine of a Granddad (Joy's father).

Below, i ask our Tribe's contact at Bodyhealth, Andrew Nudelman, about MAP Amino Acid intake for my daughter. His reply coming to the WF SanghaLounge in the MAP Cave

***

Most Noble Andrew...

let me know when you are ready for my next testimonial! thanks to MAP Aminos, i've been on a nordic rampage this winter!
7 races
7 podiums
3 OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
at age 47!

my winter racing season is all but over; one more minor race in Telluride in March.

i am more convinced than ever about MAP's critical importance for newborns/toddlers...especially within the area of
bioneural synaptic development in children ages 1.5 - 3 years.

Dewa is unbelievably mentally and physically fit; completely unvaccinated, her Immune Response is awesome! thanks in large part to her cellular fitness she has just a super cool disposition. she refuses TV/DVD's and chooses on her
own to listen and dance to music or color or do counting/lettering practice. her natural food attractions know no junk and her mental sustaining energy (what we call; dharana in yoga)
is exceptional and her sleep quality equally deep.

my intent is to keep this rolling for as long as possible...since, as you know, the six-layers of brain cells do not form completely until around 6 years of age and unconditionally set up her entire intellectual/sensing/conceptual capacities.

my only wish is for all Mothers to be on MAP for their breast milk and for all children to have the opportunity of being in a positive nitrogen balance
during their pre-natal and early years.

my question;
Dewa is 2.5 years young.
she is still breast feeding and we plan to continue to breast feed her as long as she desires.
having said that, and in knowledge of the exceptional demand for amino acids at Dewa's cellular level; in particular brain development and
neural fitness development...if we make a "MAP" smoothie for Dewa; how much MAP should go into her smoothie and how often?

head bowed and Dharma Blessings upon your amazing product that i am sooooooo fortunate to benefit from as an athlete, coach, yogi,
and most importantly; a new father!

#1)
you showed up at our h(om)e in Flagstaff recently to spend a night before heading over to the Mt. Taylor Winter Quadrathlon. this was only after driving from Vernon, BC...what in the Lords Good Name made you undertake such a long-winded Pilgrimage to do such an intense event?

The Mt. Taylor Winter Quad was the event - the motivation was to spend some time with you and meet your beautiful family. As a rookie at doing this event I wanted to take lots of equipment. 2 bikes, 2 pairs of skis , 2 pairs of snowshoes. Hard to get on a plane. Plus the trip only totaled 5600 Kilometers. For 2012 I will definitely fly.

i would first like to thank my Students who stepped up and delivered
when i asked for support in my racing this winter back in November.

i'd also like to express my unspeakable gratitude for Ananda and to my parents who surprised me by showing up at the Mt. Taylor finish line! That was really rad...my m(om) even took the above picture of me and my Partner; Dara Marks Marino after we received our gorgeous Nambé Championship Plates at Mt. Taylor Winter Quadrathlon.

i told those of you that pinched your pocket to send me a few dollars back then that i would devote each morsel of wholistic sweat and stillness that
i used in preparation and performance for my races this winter...and more importantly, use as i all-ways do, any success in my racing to inspire a deeper level of reality to all athletes who understand the spiritual necessity of getting out there and 'toeing the Start Lines' which i have and shall continue to do endlessly.

i also told you that there was no guarantee that this feeble ol' New Daddy could even get onto an Age Group podium, let alone an Overall Championship.

well, as the rest of the world spectates the Olympics, i've been out there realizing my own Olympics, competing at the highest level i have since breaking my spine.

Coming up, i'll share with you some insights from my most recent victories at Mt. Taylor and Agassiz...a heccuva back-to-back effort. you'll also hear from 65 year-young Fit Kit who finally danced the Mt. Taylor Dance after talking and thinking about it since 1995. Who, after completing his 8+ hour effort on the Tsidool Pilgrimage said, "Ironman Triathlons might be longer, but Mt. Taylor is a world harder."

plus, for DL Subscribers only; a Top-Secret WF Training Video: Dewachen Triad Workout that - along with the SUNRIDER Herbs and MAP Amino Acids - i used to pull off my amazing season of racing!

while other personal trainers and yoga teachers continue to just talk the talk of high and lofty ideals and jumping on every thing that comes down the Fitness Fad Chute...
your ol' coach is still out there getting it done with frozen snot and the Path-Proven Techniques of WF for the benefit of us all...what a Great Blessing it is to have two arms, two legs, and a set of lungs with which to breath Divinity through wisely-applied Sweat and Stillness.

with only one more "fun" race to do in Telluride this March, this winter has exploded in podiums, sacred presence, and pranic empowerment to deeper degrees than ever befor and i'll share it all with YOU; my Devoted DL Subscriber Sangha.

it's like i've always said, "Life is short, winter is even shorter. Get out and do!"

PHEWEE!!!!!!

talk about some Shiva Dancing!

first, on the morning i left for Mt. Taylor Winter Quadrathlon*, when i had put in 3 hours of pre-addressed emails and business so i could have a stress-free and timely departure for Tsidool**; my internet connection combusted...then, while away taking care of the 'real business' at Tsidool, Maha Manas (WF Master Student and new WF.com Chief Mike Singer) started to realize how deeply steep the WF Gods test those who wish to Serve WF to the masses! WF.com, both DL and iDL and Joy's old Blog got hacked by some Brazillian-based pro hackers...Maha probably put in 30 hours of Karma Service for all of us...
we have upgraded the software to the latest version, so there might be some wrinkles to iron out. email me if you encounter any issues.

Using only his Love for WF (he is unpaid at this point) Maha had to research the hacked sites and make it all bulletproof again;

THANK YOU MAHA!!!!

so, coming up is a whole huge series of inspirational Teachings from not only Mt. Taylor, but some very big news!
stay tuned!

WF Unplugged

Maha Manas here, writing at Coach Ilg's request. After five days without internet access Coach says he's meeting this latest challenge of being a techno-savvy mountain yogi in Kali Yuga with laughter. (FIVE days?!)

You'd think that unplugging Coach's electronic tether to the WF tribe would be enough. Nope. Last night some hackers apparently had some fun with WholisticFitness.com and Direct Lines. I'm working on fixing that ASAP.

Until all these glitches are resolved and Coach is back with us on the Web, he says: "Keep your practices strong, Noble Warriors!"

Missing DL and wanna feel some WF love? Here's a suggestion: walk mindfully away from your computer and go gracefully execute some Two-Bench Triceps Dips using chairs. 1 minute, 2 sets, no stopping. Now that's a Direct Line, baby!

Final Training Day for Mt. Taylor with Venerable Master WF Student Fit Kit!

Most Treasured WF Sangha,
it would take only my most Devoted long-term students to remember this
ever-grinning elder Devotee of WF, "Fit Kit" Johaneson
from Vernon, British Columbia
shown above with Dewa yesterday. (Fit Kit brought Dewa that adorable hat)

When i first met Fit Kit, i was living in Santa Fe...the year was 1993.
as an Ironman Triathlete who wanted to take study with me,
i put him through an initiation test;
"Riblet Intervals" up a black diamond ski slope on snowshoes.
he made it. barely.

after i accepted him as a student Fit Kit replied after his first WF Private Intensive all those years ago,
"You know, i first came to WF as training for Ironman competitions.
Now, i compete in Ironman to train for WF!"

Just like our first meeting many moons ago,
Fit Kit and i are about to immerse ourselves into the dawn twilight and skin up the Sacred Peak. me and my 65 year-young Ironman Triathlete/WF Devotee.
Teacher/Student.
Tribal Brothers.
going uphill...toward the Purest of Summits...together...

Fit Kit is staying here and we're doing Mt. Taylor this weekend!

coming up next in DL?
i'll introduce you to my new Mixed Pairs partner for Mt. Taylor this weekend as we
attempt to recapture the Championship as A(nother) Fair Pair of Mountain Yogis
as our Mixed Pair name; a tribute to me and Lisa Goldsmith's shattering of and still standing Course Record when we competed as; A Fair Pair of Mountain Yogis.

Fit Kit?
you don't think he drove his van here from BC
loaded with bikes, skis, snowshoes, and running gear
not to solo it, do you?

i first planted the Seed for Fit Kit to do Mt. Taylor Winter Quadrathlon
when i first met him.
he's kept that dream alive and his Training has thus been Blessed...
he is stronger than ever and come Saturday,
he is going to soar with the Tsidool spirits...

how about you?

why are you waiting to take Pilgrimage to the Sacred Peak of the Tewa, of the Diné...
of South...

Dewa Missives; Problems

My most precious daughter Dewachen,
you've been running a fever now for nearly three days. you are pretty miserable yet you don't complain. you look at Amma and i with such confusion from your tear-stained, feverish cheeks, asking, "Why?"

in our Tradition of WF, sweetheart, we train ourselves and our students not to even use the Word Choice, "Problems." for nothing truly is a 'problem' as much as it is an opportunity for enhancing our strength; physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual. often, 'problems' improve each of those uniquely Human qualities. instead of using the word, "problems" we use the word, "challenge" or "opportunity" or something like that.

one day, you'll probably giggle at this story;
because your Amma and Abba chose not to vaccinate you, we came up with a different term for what people call, "colds" or "illness"...we call them, IDEO's. it stands for: Immune Developmental Enhancement Opportunity. we have even taught it to our Students! the Teaching in this new term is to re-mind us that colds and sickness are not problems to be solved. they are more like barbells to be lifted to make us stronger.

i know it must be so hard;
you've just arrived a little over 2 years ago from the Astral Plane where sickness, snakes, bugs, and all the crazy Dualities inherent to a Human Incarnation do not exist.

"Why?"

Darling Dewa,
we can never run away from problems...if we try, we will continue to face the same type of problem(s) over and over and endlessly over again - this lifetime or another - until we finally do what it takes from deep within us to arise to the curriculm...

Ilg: Silver Medalist at State Nordic Championships; 4-peats at Flag Winter Triathlon!

Here's the drive to ilg's Superbowl yesterday...

...can there exist on this Plane(t) a more beautiful arena for warriors than that of the Outdoor Sports? ilg TAF's not...

At the Awards Ceremony in the quaint FNC Ski Lodge, Tim Allen, FNC's Race Director, offered a very moving tribute to Coach Ilg, who will be moving back to his h(om)etown of Durango, Colorado with his family on March 1st, 2010...

"Steve has done every race here - both summer and winter except for one, I think," said Tim, "every time he sees me or anyone else, he always gestures in the Namaste manner. His ongoing efforts to bring more people and energy to winter sports in Northern Arizona will be sorely missed."

Cross Country Ski Race (Freestyle)

Race #2; Arizona State Nordic Championship Finals and Final Event of the Flagstaff Winter Triathlon - 15k Freestyle Ski Race

Flagstaff Nordic Center

February 7, 2010

National caliber nordic ski racing has been officially reborn in Northern Arizona! Under magnificently mercurial skies pregnant with blinding sunshine one moment before offering bushels of snow the next, over twenty Freestyle nordic racers toed this morning's Start Line for the final race of the season at Flagstaff Nordic Center (FNC).

It took less than an hour of elite level suffering to see 2-year reigning State Champion, Steve Ilg fall prey to the fierce strength and poetic technique of Karl Garnoth of the National Guard Biathlon Team.

The Women's State Championship was won in classic fashion (pun intended) by Flagstaff stalwart nordic princess Louella Holter who actually chose to classic ski the Freestyle Race! "I had tremendous kick on the uphills," quipped a smiling Louella at the finish before accepting her coveted Arizona Cup trophy from Race Director Tim Allen.

At the 9:00 am intended Start Time, some of the 15-kilometer Race Course - the same as last weekend's Classic race - still lay buried under a fresh 5" of snow moment's before the Start. Race officials delayed the start by 15 minutes so the grooming could be finished, by FNC owner, Wendell Johnson himself!

Once the race got under way, Garnoth, Ilg, and former winner Ryan Schmidt set the pace going into "Abineau" the first of two menacing 2.2 kilometer hills. Soft was the snow, yet high was the tempo set by Garnoth as the pack began to splinter as the hurt deepened. By the top of Abineau, the wicked pace set by Garnoth was realistically only kept in check by Schmidt. The blood-letting had begun...by the top of "Reese" - the second of the two spectacular 400' climbs - it was purely a two-man show; Garnoth followed by a badger-like Schmidt who will be racing in a national event in Yellowstone next month.

Two minutes in back and the 'old men' - Ilg and FNC Professional Nordic Ski Instructor and southwest nordic icon Ken Walters - were going mano-y-mano, attempting to break the spirit of the other. Both, however, were behind surprise of the season, 30 year-old Bradley Johnson.

Ilg eventually outlasted Walters but would give up nearly 9 minutes to Garnoth as the State Title went on this day to a superior caliber of ski racer. Garnoth, in fact, could not attend the awards ceremony; he was due to race in Germany and was late! Such international pedigree upon FNC's race course is a treat!

The women's race saw newcomer Daniela Penickova, who also has international racing experience, decimate the lungs and limbs from her competition, gapping second place finisher and rookie to nordic racing, Carol ‘Fritz’ Fritzinger, by nearly five minutes. We hope to see Daniela in the Classic Race next year; she has State Champion written all over her!

No one however, threatened Steve Ilg's 4-peat of the Flagstaff Winter Triathlon crown which includes both nordic races and a 10k snowshoe race. Ilg, who is moving back to his hometown of Durango, intends to defend this "Most Versatile Winter Endurance Athlete" competition next year.

With over 11 racers now vying for the "Arizona Cup," we can hardly wait until 2011! Keep training, and special thanks to the superb groomers and staff at FNC; Arizona's Nordic Gem within the incomparable San Francisco Peaks!

The Only Thing We Have...

The cells of our body are dying, the neurons in our brain are decaying, even the expressions on our face are always changing, depending on our mood. What we call our basic character is only a “mindstream,” nothing more. Today we feel good because things are going well; tomorrow we feel the opposite. Where did that good feeling go?

What could be more unpredictable than our thoughts and emotions: Do you have any idea what you are going to think or feel next? The mind, in fact, is as empty, as impermanent, and as transient as a dream. Look at a thought: It comes, it stays, and it goes. The past is past, the future not yet risen, and even the present thought, as we experience it, becomes the past.

The only thing we really have is nowness, is now.
