(the Olympics are the same as the World Championships...just every Four Years they are 'called' the Olympics).
it's a friggin' freak show of insipid, interlaced control by China's 'government'...
i saw footage of the Women's Marathon...so sterile...the 'observers' (formerly known as 'fans') were kept at Prisoner Type distance from the athletes (who can cheer from a football field length away from the athletes...compare to Alpe de Huez in the Tour!)...the bleakness of it all...good God, what has happened?!?!
is this REALLY the same culture that produced "Taoism"? "The Tao te Ching?"
May China feel better about themselves after their freak show is over.
They need to. Obviously. Sadly.
If ilg had qualified for this particular "World Championships"? i'd not go.
